Jimmie Ruth Hughs White was born May 6,1941 in Waco and raised in Killeen, Texas.

In 1976 she and her husband, Jim, opened Spotlight Dance Studio on Hickerson Street in Cedar Hill, bringing the best in dance education to our community as well as a ray of sunshine to all. Summers from 1980 through 2001 she traveled with the Hoctor Dance Caravan training dance instructors and dancers all over the United States. In 1980 she and Jim moved their Dance Studio to the historic downtown area purchasing the T.A. Bray building on Houston. She has been the driving force behind the quality growth of Country Day on the Hill. Her son, Paul Allen, resides in Southlake and daughter, Ellen, in Maypearl.
